Dental Implants
If missing teeth cause discomfort or embarrassment, you deserve to rediscover the joy of a full, radiant smile. At Morris Plains Center for Dentistry, we offer long-term tooth replacement with dental implants so you can eat, speak, and smile more confidently.
How Do Dental Implants Work?
Unlike traditional tooth replacements like dentures or bridges, a dental implant replaces your entire tooth. It comprises:
- A titanium post that is surgically placed, replacing the missing tooth root.
- An abutment is an attachment that connects the implant post to the replacement tooth.
- A prosthetic tooth (crown) crafted to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth.
Dental implants are an excellent solution for many, but they work best for those with healthy gums and adequate jawbone density to support the implant.
Getting Started with Dental Implants
Getting a dental implant is a process that requires several steps and months to complete.
First, Dr. Bagley will evaluate your oral health using state-of-the-art technology to determine if you're a good implant candidate. He then collaborates with top specialists in our area who place your implants and ensure you are in the best hands every step of the way.
Over the next 3–6 months, the bone and tissue in your jaw fuse with the biocompatible implant in a process called osseointegration.
Once healed, Dr. Bagley places a dental crown, bridge, or denture on the implant. We use only the highest quality materials for your replacement tooth, so you can be confident it will look realistic and blend perfectly with your smile.
